The attractive, traditional village of Andermatt shares its ski area with Sedrun to form central Switzerland’s largest ski resort. Andermatt has an excellent snow record thanks to its own snowy microclimate and has seen a massive expansion in lifts and intermediate terrain in recent years thanks to significant new investment. The ski area is legendary for its off-piste, the most notable of which is the Gemsstock Mountain, which also has a long winding red from the top. You’ll be spoilt for choice with a variety of family-friendly restaurants serving regional and international specialities both on Alp Hittä and off the mountain. There are also plenty of activities to do off the mountain, with local sites such as Devil’s Bridge and the unique WW2 museum.
